Manager of Strategic Communications

The Manager of Strategic Communications position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communication strategies for AVIA. This position is responsible for the execution and delivery of external communication programs including, but not limited to:  1) development of PR communications and support of media relations, 2) content creation for business development collateral, 3) development of client testimonials and value stories and 4) creation of social media content and development of an expanded web presence. Additionally, this position will contribute to annual marketing and communications planning and will implement best practices in communications strategy and delivery as the needs of the business evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute PR strategies to stimulate awareness, create interest and drive consideration of our products and solutions vs. the competition. Develop story ideas and pitch appropriate media outlets to proactively attract interviews and articles; coordinate responses to media requests for information and/or interviews.
  • Work in conjunction with business development in the creation of customer-targeted promotional and educational materials.
  • Manage the company’s public website.
  • Spearhead the marketing campaigns using Sugar CRM.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage social media to increase AVIA’s profile.
  • Ensure corporate communications are consistent and professional.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communications channels and vehicles.

Desired Skills and Experience

The candidate will be focused on building a solid track record in leading marketing communications and in managing day-to-day relationships within AVIA and with creative agencies, public relation firms and other external partners. Creativity, excellent communication skills, effective and strategic decision-making are essential and the highest level of integrity is required.  More specifically, the ideal candidate:

  • Has an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or business.
  • Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in Marketing Communications, with at least half of that time spent in healthcare-related fields.
  • Capable of synthesizing complex ideas and creating audience-relevant communications
  • Is knowledgeable in current best practices of marketing communications and marketing programs within the healthcare sector.
  • Has strong project management skills to ensure deadlines are met and work proceeds
  • Has strong people management skills – directing, motivating, clarifying, relationship building, resolving conflicts and articulating goals efficiently.
  • Has the ability to work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment; Self-starter comfortable working independently and in collaboration with others toward shared goals and objectives.
  • Must possess the ability to lead cross-functional team members and external vendors to meet milestones.
  • Must be creative and resourceful and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Manager of Strategic Partnerships

The Manager of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for managing and expanding AVIA Strategic Partnerships through on-going activities including proposal development, work plan development and execution and ongoing relationship management. In order to be successful in this role, the Manager of Strategic Partnerships will need to quickly establish and build long-term relationships with key Strategic Partners to ensure that the partnerships support AVIA’s short and long-term business model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and drafts proposals for Strategic Partnerships that include scope of work, value proposition, timelines and high-level business terms.
  • Develops detailed workplans to support a range of strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Develops communications tailored to a range of audiences, from senior health care executives to key influencers and other partnership stakeholders, and helps to craft PR releases as relevant.
  • Builds level of partner respect and satisfaction by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations and by gaining renewals and extensions of partnerships.
  • Continually monitors partner activity and develops strategies to drive partnerships towards AVIA’s core business model.
  • Develops understanding of ongoing marketplace innovation and applicability to strategic partners.
  • Receives and responds directly to partner requests, serves as the liaison between partners and AVIA. Identifies and involves appropriate AVIA resources as needed to ensure accurate and timely delivery of AVIA’s assets.
  • Prepares for partner meetings through detailed agenda and facilitation planning.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in health care management or equivalent consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry; knowledge of hospital and health system landscape is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent rapport with clients, internal and external.
  • Superb problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively convey management needs to colleagues and functions throughout the company.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present to internal and external senior management teams.

Senior Analyst

Reporting to a Director or Vice President, the Senior Analyst will have a breadth of responsibilities ranging from AVIA’s provider-focused innovation services to understanding and analyzing emerging technology enabled products and services.  Individuals in the Senior Analyst roles have a deep passion for improving healthcare, and will quickly be immersed in multiple client situations and research on innovative topics.  Given our growth and positive outlook for the future of the business, AVIA is looking to add a number of new Senior Analyst positions to our professional team.  The positions are based in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support service delivery to AVIA’s network of hospital and health systems, including understanding client challenges and performance requirements, deliverable development, and supporting client interaction and presentations.
  • Analyze and synthesize data from diverse sources in innovative ways to extract key findings. Extract/Assimilate both quantitative and qualitative information and manipulate data in Excel. Develop recommendations to inform and educate an executive audience.
  • Primary and secondary market research on contemporary provider challenges and innovative companies in the areas of digital health, emerging healthcare technologies and hospital/health system care delivery transformation.  Conduct interviews, synthesize notes and distill key takeaways that inform a point of view on a topical area.
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of projects in order to ensure outstanding work product in a timely manner in a fast paced environment.
  • Special projects: Assist with special projects such as competitive landscape analysis and social media strategy.
  • Teamwork: Be a valued and contributing member of the AVIA team.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BS/BA degree
  • Two plus years of work experience post graduation is required
  • Strong candidates will couple analytical skills with excellent creative thinking
  • Experience engaging with all levels at a client organization
  • Ability to draw insights from disparate sources that are both quantitative and qualitative in nature
  • Ability to apply structured, analytical and creative thinking to unstructured problems
  • Candidates should feel comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrate evidence of working and thriving in environments with limited information and data
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge of Access is a plus
  • Enthusiasm to learning, challenge and enhance existing strategic solutions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff
  • Commitment to building the capacity, thought capital and brand of the organization
