VP/Director of Provider Solutions

The VP/Director of Provider Solutions is responsible for building AVIA’s business and service lines oriented around common healthcare provider challenges.  This individual will work cross-functionally across AVIA to ensure that we both develop in-depth expertise and deliver best of breed technology enabled solutions to providers in AVIA’s Innovation Network.

Key Responsibilities

The VP/Director of Provider Solutions, as both a product and knowledge management leader, is responsible for building, growing, and leading AVIA’s business within 1 to 2 areas aligned against provider strategic priorities or challenges areas.  Responsibilities include:

  • Developing a strategic perspective and point of view on each Contemporary Provider Challenge (“CPC”) area.
  • Developing a fact-based perspective on customer/end-user needs, constraints and opportunities as it relates to their CPC based on:
    • Building a network of clinical and administrative leaders responsible for the relevant CPC or sub-domains
    • Developing detailed knowledge of solutions and companies
    • Third party research
  • Building and executing the go-to-market plan for their CPC inclusive of:
    • Target customer segments/institutions
    • Marketing materials
    • Products and pricing. Cohorts are the core offering. The network and knowledge accumulated will afford additional opportunities
    • Delivery
  • In conjunction with the VP of Client Experience, marketing and selling participation in cohorts organized around the CPC(s) and identifying additional service opportunities.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Innovation Intelligence, ensuring that AVIA collects information on and develops a perspective on the technology-enabled solutions that address each CPC.
  • Building, overseeing and managing a cohort execution team that will:
    • Interact with provider members to assess strategic context and operational constraints
    • Interact with technology-enabled solution vendors to evaluate solution effectiveness
    • Manage the process of selecting and implementing a solution within the cohort
  • Serve as the expert for AVIA for the 1 to 2 CPC’s, including speaking at conferences and events regarding the trends and opportunities within this space.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience within the healthcare sector, preferably with direct experience working with or for healthcare providers.
  • Advanced degree in healthcare (MPH, MHA), MBA with a focus in healthcare (preferred) or PhD.
  • Ability to interact with healthcare c-suite as the ‘level of thought’ partner.
  • Evidence of ability to build and manage multiple aspects of a business (e.g., strategy, service, project management, organizational development).
  • Ability to synthesize and derive insights from large amounts of activity in the healthcare market.
  • Interest in and/or experience with innovative technology-enabled healthcare solutions (e.g., digital health).
  • Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment and dealing with ambiguity is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time is required.

Manager, Provider Solutions

The Manager of Provider Solutions is responsible for developing expertise in emerging areas of importance to healthcare providers and driving client service for providers in AVIA’s Innovators Network.  In this role, the Manager of Provider Solutions will interact with healthcare providers on strategic priorities and operational constraints, while also engaging emerging technology-enabled solution vendors who might address provider needs.  The Manager of Provider Solutions will lead engagement(s) with one or more healthcare providers to select the best technology-enabled solutions and support ongoing coordination and implementation across multiple healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Manager of Provider Solutions is responsible for leading engagement(s) of healthcare providers aligned against specific priorities or challenges areas.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead interactions with healthcare providers to understand strategic context and operational constraints.
  • Serve as the liaison between AVIA and key members of each participating providers’ team.
  • Interact with technology-enabled solution vendors to evaluate solution effectiveness.
  • Source and codify information on technology-enabled solution companies to support evaluation.
  • Manage the process of selecting a solution through AVIA’s RFInnovation process.
  • Coordinate and support implementation of selected technology-enabled solutions across one or more provider institutions.
  • Develop and execute detailed workplans to support project execution; identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions as needed.
  • Support ongoing communication and collaboration across multiple provider institutions.
  • Lead and successfully address periodic ad hoc requests from organizations in AVIA’s Innovator Network.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise on specific challenge areas and technology verticals.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience within the healthcare sector, preferably with direct experience working with or for healthcare providers
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience working within a healthcare provider as an internal consultant, Administrative Fellow, or as part of a performance improvement project is a plus
  • High-level experience with or knowledge of healthcare providers’ clinical and administrative IT systems is a plus
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent rapport with clients, internal and external
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present and/or lead discussions in small group settings
  • Evidence of ability to manage multiple elements of a project(s)
  • Interest in and/or experience with innovative technology-enabled healthcare solutions (e.g., digital health)
  • Comfort working and taking initiative in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time is required

Manager of Strategic Communications

The Manager of Strategic Communications position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communication strategies for AVIA. This position is responsible for the execution and delivery of external communication programs including, but not limited to:  1) development of PR communications and support of media relations, 2) content creation for business development collateral, 3) development of client testimonials and value stories and 4) creation of social media content and development of an expanded web presence. Additionally, this position will contribute to annual marketing and communications planning and will implement best practices in communications strategy and delivery as the needs of the business evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute PR strategies to stimulate awareness, create interest and drive consideration of our products and solutions vs. the competition. Develop story ideas and pitch appropriate media outlets to proactively attract interviews and articles; coordinate responses to media requests for information and/or interviews.
  • Work in conjunction with business development in the creation of customer-targeted promotional and educational materials.
  • Manage the company’s public website.
  • Spearhead the marketing campaigns using Sugar CRM.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage social media to increase AVIA’s profile.
  • Ensure corporate communications are consistent and professional.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communications channels and vehicles.

Desired Skills and Experience

The candidate will be focused on building a solid track record in leading marketing communications and in managing day-to-day relationships within AVIA and with creative agencies, public relation firms and other external partners. Creativity, excellent communication skills, effective and strategic decision-making are essential and the highest level of integrity is required.  More specifically, the ideal candidate:

  • Has an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or business.
  • Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in Marketing Communications, with at least half of that time spent in healthcare-related fields.
  • Capable of synthesizing complex ideas and creating audience-relevant communications
  • Is knowledgeable in current best practices of marketing communications and marketing programs within the healthcare sector.
  • Has strong project management skills to ensure deadlines are met and work proceeds
  • Has strong people management skills – directing, motivating, clarifying, relationship building, resolving conflicts and articulating goals efficiently.
  • Has the ability to work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment; Self-starter comfortable working independently and in collaboration with others toward shared goals and objectives.
  • Must possess the ability to lead cross-functional team members and external vendors to meet milestones.
  • Must be creative and resourceful and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Manager of Strategic Partnerships

The Manager of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for managing and expanding AVIA Strategic Partnerships through on-going activities including proposal development, work plan development and execution and ongoing relationship management. In order to be successful in this role, the Manager of Strategic Partnerships will need to quickly establish and build long-term relationships with key Strategic Partners to ensure that the partnerships support AVIA’s short and long-term business model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates and drafts proposals for Strategic Partnerships that include scope of work, value proposition, timelines and high-level business terms.
  • Develops detailed workplans to support a range of strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Develops communications tailored to a range of audiences, from senior health care executives to key influencers and other partnership stakeholders, and helps to craft PR releases as relevant.
  • Builds level of partner respect and satisfaction by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations and by gaining renewals and extensions of partnerships.
  • Continually monitors partner activity and develops strategies to drive partnerships towards AVIA’s core business model.
  • Develops understanding of ongoing marketplace innovation and applicability to strategic partners.
  • Receives and responds directly to partner requests, serves as the liaison between partners and AVIA. Identifies and involves appropriate AVIA resources as needed to ensure accurate and timely delivery of AVIA’s assets.
  • Prepares for partner meetings through detailed agenda and facilitation planning.

  • Bachelors degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in health care management or equivalent consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry; knowledge of hospital and health system landscape is required.

Senior Project Manager – Hx360

Hx360 is a new joint venture enterprise created by AVIA (http://aviahealthinnovation.com) and HIMSS (http://www.himss.org).  Hx360 will encourage the use of technology-enabled solutions by health care provider organizations, using major convening opportunities which include corporate sponsors and input, a new health systems rating Index (the Hx360 Index), education and data products and services, and consulting services.

The Hx360 Senior Project Manager will work very with the Hx360 Chief Executive Officer to facilitate and coordinate the activities of Hx360’s working committees, to develop and facilitate the execution of strategies and tactics related to major health care provider and sponsor convening opportunities, the development, deployment and use of the Hx360 Index, as well as the development and deployment of educational and data products and supporting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development detailed workplans to support the range of Hx360 working committees.
  • Prepares for Hx360 Committee and other meetings through detailed agenda and facilitation planning.
  • Facilitates, proctors and reports on some Hx360 meetings in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Works with the Strategy and Product Development Committee to develop ongoing strategy and execution tactics.
  • Works with Hx360 Sponsorship and Sales personnel to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Develops understanding of ongoing marketplace innovation and applicability to Hx360 strategic partners.
  • Receives and responds directly to partner requests, serves as the liaison between partners and Hx360. Identifies and involves appropriate Hx360 resources as needed to ensure accurate and timely delivery of Hx360’s assets.

Analyst/Senior Analyst

Analysts at AVIA are responsible for leading research on healthcare provider needs and innovative technology-enabled solutions in order to enhance AVIA’s products and services.  An Analyst may have a breadth of responsibilities ranging from analyzing healthcare providers innovation capabilities and readiness, to conducting primary and secondary research on technology-enabled solutions, to interacting with healthcare providers in AVIA’s Innovator Network. Individuals in an Analyst role must have a deep passion for improving healthcare, and will quickly be immersed in multiple client situations and research on innovative topics.  Given AVIA’s growth, we are looking to add a number of new Analysts to our professional team.  These positions are located in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provider services: Support service delivery to AVIA’s network of hospital and health systems, including understanding client challenges and performance requirements, deliverable development, and supporting client interaction and presentations.
  • Analysis: Analyze and synthesize data from diverse sources in innovative ways to extract key findings. Extract/Assimilate both quantitative and qualitative information and manipulate data in Excel. Develop recommendations to inform and educate an executive audience.
  • Research: Primary and secondary market research on contemporary provider challenges and innovative companies in the areas of digital health, emerging healthcare technologies and hospital/health system care delivery transformation.  Conduct interviews, synthesize notes and distill key takeaways that inform a point of view on a topical area.
  • Project Management: Manage day-to-day aspects of projects in order to ensure outstanding work product in a timely manner in a fast paced environment.
  • Special projects: Assist with special projects such as competitive landscape analysis and social media strategy.
  • Teamwork: Be a valued and contributing member of the AVIA team.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BS/BA degree
  • Two plus years of work experience post graduation is required
  • Strong candidates will couple strong analytical skills with creative thinking and show:
    • Ability to draw insights from disparate information sources that are both quantitative and qualitative in nature
